OUR STORY

In 1985 two men, exploring Australia's far North, stumbled upon a gemstone the likes of which had never been seen before. The patterns looked manufactured and unnaturally geometric. The first thing most people asked when they saw the stones was "How is it made?" Amazingly, they are a natural phenomena.
These remarkable gemstones are found in a very small, distant patch of desert in Australia's Northern Territory. Rainbow lattice is extremely rare, intrinsically beautiful, and has an otherworldly peculiarity.
OUR ETHOS
Rainbow Lattice gemstones are found on Aboriginal land. It is vitally important to us as a company and as individuals to have harmony with the people whose land gives up these precious rocks.
We have a friendly and cooperative relationship with the Eastern Arrernte people, and work with them to learn and respect their culture. At their request we have named our mine in honour of their Dreaming, Utnerrengatye (Rainbow Caterpillar).
We are committed to helping them build infrastructure to enhance their communities, and to preserving the pristine environment. We like to think of ourselves as an intentional mining company.
Our Rainbow Lattice, Eclipsitetm and Lunalite are the only true legally mined material. Some suppliers are direct buyers from us, but some are selling material which has been illegally taken from the leases. We strive to supply material which has been extracted ethically and with a strong environmental conscience.
