Rainbow Lattice is a spectacular gemstone when cut correctly to show off the lattice. Extracting the gems from the rock involves skill and experience. A large amount of material is discarded to expose the final product.
After collecting material at the mine, it is cleaned to remove dirt and iron staining, sorted and graded, and then cut to remove most of the matrix and expose the Rainbow Lattice. This is a time consuming but rewarding process of exploring the material and you never quite know what is going to turn up.
Once sorted and cut, the process of forming the best stones from the raw material begins. Watching the material transform from something you might walk past to some of the most exquisite unique natural gemstones known to man is a singular privilege.
The final results are worth all the effort.
